This week, student have to decide the direction pf the project, and be tasked to prepare a proposal brief explaining the reasons and show how to carry it out. The idea should be realistic and allowing student to exercise the creative skills beyond their comfort zone.

After review all the SDGs, i decided to go with the 'Good health and well-being'. This goal is about to ensure healthy life style and promote well-being for all of the ages. So why i choose this because i found that people that in a young adult ages having mental health problem, and most of us haven't realize how serious this problem is, so i dedice to go on a project with Target 3.4 : "reduce by one-third pre-mature mortality from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through prevention and treatment, and promote mental health and wellbeing"

I want to challenge myself more in film production so i then decided to design an animation video. My target audience will be young adult, 17-15years old. The animation is talking about anxiety, I think that we should build knowledge and raise awareness before it too late.

This is the character and storyboard.

Storyboard

Here the proposal (version 1):

Task example:

Ms Anis give suggestion that the storyboard can have some revise to more fit the topic, because the plot now in the storyboard is more inclined to outside harassment rather than the patient itself. So I modified the storyboard based on the experience of people with anxiety.

This is the revised storyboard and new add-in character.

Revised storyboard

New character-help worker

Ms Anis approved the storyboard and look forward the progression in the future.

Enviroment design:

Animation video draft:
Based on this draft, I made some changes, such as character actions, smoke, and keyframes.
Revised storyboard:

Edited video without sound effect:

I didn't plan to play sound effects because the sound design was difficult for me. But then, I thought I should use the opportunity to try out aspects of design that I wasn't familiar with. So in the end, I added sound effects into the animation video.

Final video:

REFLECTIONS
__
Experiences:  Animation has always been time-consuming and energy-intensive, and it may take you days to get two seconds on the screen. The reason why I chose to do animation in this design exploration is first to improve my skills (the operation of the camera, the foreshadowing of the plot, and the turning points, etc.), and the second is to challenge myself to the most unfamiliar sound design (really very bad). The online course and the timing given by Ms Anis were actually very good for me, not only allowing me to complete time-consuming animations on time, but also giving me enough time to make changes based on Ms Anis's suggestions. Facing the screen for a long time made my eyes tired, but fortunately the experience and the final result made me feel very happy and worth it.

Observations:
First of all I want to say that reasonable scheduling is very important. In the middle of the project, I was actually in a state of confusion. Because after consulting Ms. Anis, she mentioned that my plot is more passive (the main character's anxiety is external rather than himself). I was looking for inspiration until I found a friend with an anxiety disorder to tell her about her experience and I decided to make it my story. Under the reminder of Ms Anis, we were asked to make a project managemnet timeline, which helped me a lot in time management and allowed me to complete the project on time. In addition, I have a few more opportunities to explore animation. My keyframes have always been under control, but this time the animations are smoother than before.

Findings:I used to get lost while doing this animation because the result was not so satisfying. But it's nice to be able to step out of my comfort zone and challenge animation and sound design that I've always resisted (because it's time-consuming, laborious and lacking in recognizable sound), but we just have to face it and accept the challenge calmly. In the future, I hope that I will not back down when faced with challenges, just like now, I will continue to explore.
