Week 6 - 11/02/2021
Students are required to generate 5 ideas based on the data collection, and the 5 ideas can take the form of 2d or 3d, but they must be related to the culture the student is studying. After discussion among the group members, we decided to one person in charge of a design idea, including
an event with packaging design, educational tea set, promotional video and poster with qr code . After discussion among the group members, we decided to use the following color schemes as our theme:

The design idea I am responsible for is qr code. After asking the team members, we also got the references that were in line with the idea.

After knowing enough about tea culture, I found that I was still new to the field of qr code design, so with the help of the team members, we found a suitable website to learn how to design qr code. 5 steps to make a creative QR code design in 2021!

Qr code is a popular technology that allowing people to browse and review the content in a short time. It significantly cut costs and boost productivity. It will printed on our poster and after scan it will bring u to our Instagram. It is a thing to scan, most people only take a few seconds to look at it. We decided to use these few seconds to let people see about the basic tea knowledge. According to this concept, I drew a few drafts:

Fig 1.4 Sketch 2

Fig 1.5 Sketch 3
Fig 1.6 Sketch 4

In the end, I chose the third sketch, which is more in line with the theme, and design is based on clockwise because everything on tea is in order. On the middle of qr code, A tea house which is a place mainly served tea and it also represent to our event that let people experience.  The reason of design the pot spout is facing outward because when making tea, the pot spout facing others mean drive away and is very impolite. With Pouring tea, pay attention to the hand of pouring tea, it also avoid to make guests feel uncomfortable. Continue with drink tea, hold the cup with both hands to show respect to others. The pot of hot tea and four full cups of tea mean refill in time without finish drinking It also means that the tea is endless, as friendship as well. The last one is the knock-finger ceremony, used to thanks the host who served you with tea.

Then I tried to design on qr code. The most difficult part was that after changing the color or adding some designs, the qr code would not be able to scan. In order to ensure that the qr code can work, I have to scan every time I change a color and every time a graphic is added. In the process, I hope the graphic can be combined with some dots of qr code. This also increases the difficulty of qr code work. This is the first draft of qr code.

However, we found that this qr code does not match the poster. So, I immediately redesigned. During the design process, qr code cannot be scanned due to design problems.

The following are the latest results:

This qr code will printed on our poster and after scan it will bring u to our Instagram. Below is our Instagram:

Week 7 - 18/02/2021
This week the lecturers briefed us about the final project, including the due date of submission. In this zoom meeting, lecturers opened the Q&A section for students to ask questions. In the process, lecturers answered the question about expectation of the final output. For Dr. Charles Sharma Naidu’s suggestion, he said that completing the final work is the first priority, and then to make sure that the project meets the design objective. Dr. Jinchi suggests that students can read MIB to understand the requirements of the project. Ms. Anis said that this project is about the ability to translate the research and teamwork to produce the final output. Mr. Asrizal said that students can think about whether information is brought out in the final output and the best medium to convert the message that we want to bring. Before ending this meeting, Mr. Rizal briefed on peer evaluation, which is a mark sheet of the groupmates. He hopes that the team members can remind and help each other, so that they can understand their mistakes and have the opportunity to improve. The meeting ends after the explanation of final presentation. Final Presentation:
