Week 1 - 30/03/2021
Mr. Razif gave a brief introduction to the students about this subject and what we are going to do this semester. The student will have been tasked with a few exercises, project 1, project 2, and the final project. Mr. Razif also reminded us to install Adobe Audition for our tutorials and courses.
Week 2 - 06/04/2021
This week, Mr. Razif lectured about the basic function of adobe audition. Students were requested to do a task about audition exercise that given by Mr. Razif. The sound footage was provided on google drive.
Week 3 - 13/04/2021
Mr. Razif introduced to student some functions that are commonly used and can bring good effects to the sound design, such as reversing, time stretching, and pitch change.

WEEK 2 (06/04/2021)
Audio Editing Exercise
After Mr. Razif shows the process of editing EQ with a simple effect -parametric equalizer, we asked to download the audio file in google drive and try it by ourselves. We have to identify the differences of each audio and adjust it to the original sound. Below is my outcome:
Explosion Exercise
Mr. Razif also used explosion audio to teach more editing and effect skills. Mr. Razif also used explosion audio to teach more editing and effect skills. He encouraged students to try to edit an explosion sound by themselves, to explore more effects to make the audio more levels.

WEEK 3 (13/04/2021)
This week, student have been tasked by Mr. Razif to do an audio exercise. Student have to create a sound clip following the environment image that provided by Mr. Razif. One image is about a laser lab, and another one is about a aquarium lab.
Due to find the suitable sound clip in free sound, i only able to finish environment 1 exercise. Mr. Razif give me feedback as the mechanic sound small mechanic, and the image is look bigger. So, I continue work on environment sound clip 1 and 2. Bellow is my work:

I try on some effect like full reverb to make the room bigger, and also echo effect to create spacing. Some sound that use reverse effect will sound more better than original clip, exp before a mechanic start working or moving. Finally, below is my outcome:

WEEK 4 (20/04/2021)
The exercises that given by Mr. Razif was try to make the plane sound fade in from left ear to right. And the another exercise, Mr. Razif ask student to try play with EQ and keyframe.

WEEK 7 (11/05/2021)
This week, we started to enter the early stage of project 2. Students are required to make a voice over based on the 'Sample Scripts for Radio Commercials' provided by the lecturer. Below is the script and i was choose the first one which is Valley view automotive:

I used an app downloaded from the play store on the phone called Voice recorder pro to record. Considering the reverb, I hid in the closet and covered my mouth with a cloth to prevent wind noise. Below is my result:

Fig 4.7 Voice over revised
Under the guidance of Mr. Razif, I learned various ways to make the sound more advanced, such as noise reduction. In the first step of adjusting voice over, the effect I used first is noise reduction. It allows me to minimize all the noise, as breath sound. After a simple apply, my next step is normalization. I use it for taking the max peak for entire audio to a certain level. It will appear very loud.
So then I used dynamic process to reduce and compress audio to a similar volume.

I want the sound to be more advanced, so I then used the parametric equalizer to adjust the effect I want.
Finally, I use hard limits to prevent overexposure of sound. Below is the comparison audio level that I revised (upper) and original (lower):
