INSTRUCTION



WEEK 1 - 23/08/2021 

This week, students should go through the previous semester’s Research Methodology and refer to note that share in google classroom. Besides that, students should review the Slides and recorded lecture that was uploaded in Microsoft Teams. During the first week, I do revision on the previous semester’s Research Methodology document and listed the cover and content list of the draft dissertation. Besides than, I chose a few suitable themes that connect with the topic to create a matrix. After that, I found out the respective keyword, themes, methodology, and more from them. I have to decide on sub-title and started writing literature reviews.


I try to find the topic of mutual connection between the theme and keyword, which helps to turn the content into a more effective topic. I found that I spent a lot of time thinking about how to twist the topic to be more related to the study background.


WEEK 2 - 30/09/2021 


Feedback:

Based on Dr.Hayati's feedback, topic has to be considered to background study. I have to twist the sub-title more connect with the original theme and arrange the content more effective. I started drafting the writing of literature review after I revised the topic. Students should refer to section 2 note that share in google classroom. Students should review the section 2 slides and recorded lecture that was uploaded in Microsoft Teams.


Reflections

This week I focus on writing literature reviews. After reading the appropriate research papers, I found it easier to find evidence to prove my point. This makes it easier for me to explain the content or criticize.


WEEK 3 - 06/09/2021 


I followed the instructions of Dr. Hayati and revised the research topic. After than, I revised the writing of the literature review with critical thinking and corrected the citation format as well as punctuation. Then, I started writing the research methodology by following the notes step by step.


Feedback:

  • I have to critically write for the information in the literature review by using more connector word
  • I have to twist the research topic 
  • I have to revise the citation format correctly and refer to the citation note given by Dr. Hayati
  •  I have to check through the punctuation of the literature review
  • Students should refer to section 3 note that share in google classroom
  • Students should review the section 3 slides and recorded lecture that was uploaded in Microsoft Teams
  • Students should write section 3 properly to explain the reason and what expected of the research methodology

Reflections

Dr. Hayati prepared the slide that shows the easiest way to write the research methodology. According to the note, I understand how to convey the information in section 3. The notes were simplified and easier to understand how to approach writing a Research Methodology.

WEEK 4 - 13/09/2021 

This week, I revised the writing of the research methodology with a more reasonable and explanation. I have added further description and reason in the writing, as well as identify the interviewees. After that, I revised my section 3 especially the mistake of plural singular.

Feedback:

  • I have to write out the reason why consider this methodology and how it helps to archive the data
  • The writhing should include strong evidence and further description 
  • I have to be careful on plural/singular
  • I have to write the interviewee in the full name and big capital letter
  • Students should refer to section 4 note that share in google classroom
  • Students should review the section 5 slides and youtube video 
  • Students should write sections 4 and 5 in time to avoid rush

Reflections
Dr. Hayati had given the notes that could guide students to write the finding and discussion. According to the note, I understand how to analyze the data in section 4 and how to write an effective discussion. The due date for sections 4 and 5 is 26th September. Due to the lack of email interview respondents or unrelated answers,  I found out that it was hard to collect more data that related to my research. With that said, I focused on summarizing the useful answers that are relevant to the research.
WEEK 5 - 20/09/2021

This week, I continued the writing of the research finding and discussion. Besides that, I import all useful data from the previous research paper into the draft dissertation. I followed the writing format given by Dr. Hayati to avoid erroneous writing.

Feedback:

  • I have to revise the writing based on the feedback given by Dr. Hayati before
  • Finish the writing of sections 4 and 5 which is finding and discussion before the deadline
  • Students should keep up to meet the deadline every week finish the writing to avoid the snowballing effect 
  • Students were reminded to submit the sections (4 & 5) on the interim deadline on 26 Sep 2021

Reflections
During importing the data from the previous research papers, I discovered that the visual analysis comprised some data that was unrelated to the research topic, thus I revised and removed the data that was unhelpful in the research paper, such as the analysis of animation box movies. In addition, I found out that my writing speed is slow, hence I have to manage the time reasonably so that I can complete the writing in time.

WEEK 6 - 27/10/2021

This week, I revised the mistake of writing 'figure' in the research paper. I have reviewed and read the research paper before I write the conclusion and completed the rest of the writing refer to the notes.

Feedback:
  • I have to write the ‘Figure’ in the proper way to ensure the text numbering

  • I have to write more descriptive, include figures to help readers understand.

  • Students were reminded to submit the draft dissertation on Sunday, 3rd Oct.

  • Students should refer to the Acknowledgements, Abstract, Conclusion, and Appendices notes that share in google classroom

Reflections
Dr. Hayati published the note and PDF in google classroom which help students to write the proper dissertation. The notice of the dateline for the entire full Draft Dissertation is 3rd October, the ending week 6. I found out that the writing of the Figure in the research paper was wrong and I revised it according to advice from Dr. Hayati.

WEEK 7 - 04/10/2021

This week, I revised the mistake of writing references list with APA format in the research paper. After that, I followed advice from Dr.Hayati to create the diagram and text box. I have reviewed and read the research paper.

Feedback:
  • I have to change the section 1.5 to a diagram

  • I have to change the appendix 1 into textbox

  • I have to revise some sentences in wrong description

  • I have to write references in APA format 

  • Students were reminded to submit the draft dissertation 

  • Students should refer to the link that provide in MIB to write the references list in APA format 

Reflections
Dr. Hayati published the submission in google classroom. I have to finish my revision on design dissertation to meet the duedate.
