WEEK 5 TO WEEK 7

Next, we need to identify new solutions to the problem statement we created and start looking for alternative ways of viewing the problem. Choose from ideation techniques such as brainstorming, brainwriting, worst possible ideas, and SCAMPER to inspire free thinking and expand the problem space. The findings are submitted to selected experts for review based on the resulting conception results.

WEEK 5

We have a group meeting at night to discuss the work we need to do next. We decided to assign everyone to look for an idea to design, and finally discuss and decide which style to use. After assigning tasks, we start our own research.

My idea is mainly to incorporate some cultural elements into the design, and the style will be biased toward some cultural feelings in Malaysia. This is one of the designs I've found that feels relatively similar.

I was in charge of the animation part in the later stage, but I still found some references for inspiration.

WEEK 6

We have a meeting to finalize the design style. We have a combination version of different design art style from our groupmates.

After discussion, we decide to pick my idea, which is the cultural element. We work together to find out more similar design style for references and also the color scheme.

We also have a discussion about the logo design, which was in charge by Sean, Jez and Racheal.

WEEK 7

The presentation was on Friday, we plan to finish our presentation slide and document done before Thursday. We having a discussion in discord and we work together to complete the ppt. Racheal had prepared the link and we started to work with our part.

REFLECTIONS

Experiences:  I've been stymied in my search for design inspiration because kokoloko's requirements require a sophisticated yet family-like feel. I keep visiting pinterest, behance and other design sites when looking for inspiration, and I even revisit kokoloko's self-introduction youtube.

Observations:

I found the original suggestion as kokoloko's event and store background really interesting. I think it could be a style, with some Malaysian elements and traditions, it would be a good try.

 

Findings:
I saw that the team members were satisfied and helped to refine the design style of the idea. This made me see the power of teamwork. A monotonous design can be enriched with the help of team members.
